Thus, schools are making use of its potential for imparting education, particularly in science, Geography and other subjects which require visuals.
Skill Development Programmes – Special programmes dealing with cooking, knitting, stitching, decorating etc and other skills are broadcast on TV at specific times. These skills are of great value for those who want to enter these professions or use the skills in their daily lives.
Cultural Value – The celebrations of Independence Day and Republic day are broadcasted on television, which contains cultural values also besides education. Viewers of television get the opportunity to watch various programmes related to the importance of the historical days, the values that our freedom fighters cherished and the values necessary for a successful democracy. TV also broadcasts serials based on the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the great epics of India, as well as other mythological stories. The younger generation watches them learn about their country’s culture and civilisation.
